We have over 100 pieces in stock! The Magic flute pattern, with its beautifully textured relief was designed by Bjorn Wiinblad and
introduced by Rosenthal in 1968. The Danish designer, Bjorn Wiinblad was a prolific artist who created some of his most distinctive
designs during the 1960s. It is said that Wiinblad drew his inspiration for this very modern and imaginative pattern from Orthodox
Church architecture (for the shapes), Persian textiles and of course Mozart’s opera, the “Magic Flute”. The exquisite porcelain relief
depicts whimsical dancing figures. There are two versions of the Magic Flute pattern, an all white one that has subtle matte highlights
to the figural decoration…and Sarastro, the version with rich, gold encrusted decoration of the figures. The librettos from the Magic
flute, written by Schikaneder, are printed on the back of each piece in 24k gold paint. It is, undoubtedly, one of the most beautiful
