Nevrdull is a wonderful multi-purpose product. It is fibrous wadding (like a big ball of cotton)
that already has the polishing compound in it. Simply remove a small piece of the wadding and rub
the article that needs to be cleaned. The packaging recommends Nevrdull as an all-purpose metal
polish. It cleans and polishes silver, gold, brass, copper, pewter, steel, aluminum and chrome.

At edish, we have found a number of additional uses for Nevrdull in the care and maintenance of
china and crystal. Some of these include:
Rust
The removal of rust spots. After washing, sometimes rust appears in little round spots on
china or crystal . These can usually be removed very easily with Nevrdull.
Metallic Trim
The occasional polishing or removal of discoloration on the metallic gold and platinum trims
on china and crystal. When used very lightly and sparingly, Nevrdull will bring out the
original luster on metallic trims if they have become dull, dingy or stained from use over
time. It is important to use the product very, very lightly, sparingly and only occasionally.
The layer of thin metallic paint can easily be completely removed from china and crystal if
too much force is used or the process is repeated with a regular frequency.
Sticker Goo
The removal of old price stickers, tape or labels. (At edish we use only water soluble
price stickers, so no special product is necessary to remove our labels since they will
wash off after soaking in water.) Everyone has experienced the frustration from trying
to remove an old price tag or manufacturer’s label on china or crystal. Nothing seems to
work very well and nothing will remove gooey adhesive fast enough! Although there are
some commercial products available now and acetone will usually work, Nevrdull is better
and faster! In addition, Nevrdull can be used safely on nearly all plastics too. Some
products, including acetone, will melt some plastics and leave a scar worse than the
sticker goo.
Metallic Marks
The removal of metallic scratches. Knives and forks sometimes leave a light black or gray
metallic deposit on ceramics. The dishwasher can also leave light black or brownish metallic
marks if the rubber coated wire racks in the dishwasher wear through to expose the metal wire
tips beneath. (Some hardware stores and appliance dealers that represent dishwasher
manufacturers sell rubber tips to cover worn racks.) Many of these types of marks can
be removed with Nevrdull. (If the marks are severe, it may be necessary to try a combination
of products in addition to Nevrdull.) Our experience at edish has been that although most
metallic marks will come off, it may be hard work.
As with any product, care should be taken when experimenting with the application of Nevrdull. Try to use the product on the back of a piece, or in a less visible area on the piece. If possible, test the product on a cracked or chipped piece first. At edish, Nevrdull has become a trusted, dependable product that we have used for over fifteen years. It is also economical; a can will probably last most households for months or even years depending on use.
